Verträglich Reisen The Magazine
Mass tourism is passé. These days, travellers seek individual adventures or carefree relaxation in unspoiled nature. Nevertheless, a multitude of questions arise when looking for the right holiday. Which regions offer environmentally compatible thrills? Which insiders' tips are worthwhile for the whole family? Where does one find accommodation with charm, taste and regional cooking?
Verträglich Reisen, the only German-written magazine for environment-friendly travel, provides answers. Every issue offers a variety of insiders' tips as well as information on hiking and biking throughout Europe. In addition, the magazine's comprehensive service section provides a selection of accommodation and individual tour operators.
From 27th November 2009 on, the new issue will be available at German, Austrian and Swiss newsstands.
This year's issue of Verträglich Reisen is the fifth to be published by the magazine's new publisher, the fairkehr Verlagsgesellschaft of Bonn. It has relaunched the unique magazine with a new layout, giving it the benefit of twenty-three years' publishing experience. The fairkehr Verlagsgesellschaft's other publications include travel catalogues, publications on environmental policy and of course, the VCD members' magazine fairkehr. "The objective behind our commitment to Verträglich Reisen was to turn it into a 'Geo Saison for alternative travelling' and we've succeeded," says editor-in-chief Regine Gwinner as she hopes for good sales figures at the newsstands. With its appealing layout, unusual travelogues and contributions to the debate on tourism policy, Vertäglich Reisen 2010 proves that environment-friendly travel is in line with the trend.
"Anything that makes a holiday not just a beautiful and relaxing experience, but an environmentally-compatible one as well, is of interest to us," explains fairkehr's publishing head Michael Adler. "Nevertheless, the magazine's success depends on its ability to convey to its readers the joy of travelling and to provide them with suggestions and information. We've accomplished all these things with the relaunch of Verträglich Reisen magazine."
